It’s October 2000, and Rachel Pastirik a sophomore at Radford University and a small business owner of Netdrafter, was a winner at the annual College Media Advisers National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Winner, 2nd place” goes to Rachel Pastirik says WashingtonPost.com, Rolling Stone and The San Francisco Examiner. Not only did Rachel design the Radford University online magazine - she also ran it. Secretly nominated by the Director of Student Media, Rachel arrived at the competition to see her name in The Best of Collegiate Design publication among 91 competitors from within the U.S. and Canada.
Young, bright and full of talent this hard working business woman and college student received national recognition not only for herself, but also for the universities’ online magazine - Whim Internet Magazine. This achievement says to the business world Rachel Pastirik cares about her work. Some of her inspiration might come from one of her favorite architects - Frank Lloyd Wright when he said, “All fine architectural values are human values, else not valuable.” If hard work, integrity, and an honest day’s labor make up the foundation for Rachel Pastirik, then she is well on her way to achieving great things.
